The list of the nominated referees is dominated by referees who are participants of the Global Referee Training Project. This also means that the combined proportion of referees from Africa, America and Asia is higher than ever before and, above all, these referees have already been tested and trained by the IHF for some time. The same applies to the referee nominations for the Men's Junior World Championship in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
